Welcome to our Island Retreat on East Lake

Welcome to this truly unique cottage located on a private island in East Lake in the middle of Prince Edward County. Enjoy the spectacular nature vistas on your own one-and-a-half-acre paradise, for a truly unique vacation experience.

Perfect for those seeking total relaxation in a private, natural and comfortable setting. A pleasant twenty-minute boat ride takes you to the Sandbanks Park (recently voted one of the most beautiful beaches in Canada), or on to Picton, Cherry Valley and Bloomfield, and numerous other attractions – if you can bear to leave!
A small boat could be rented from us by arrangement. Don’t forget that you will need a life-jacket for each member of your group. Also, it goes without saying that island living, while it offers incredible privacy and 360 degrees of views, means that you have to plan ahead in terms of grocery shopping – there are no shops on the island.

There is a large deck hugging the front of the cottage, allowing for mosquito-free sunsets while barbecuing with the family; it is furnished with lawn chairs and gas BBQ. If the lake breezes are more than you like, you can move them around behind the cottage. There’s also a fire-pit for idyllic evenings. And of course the surrounding lake offers endless hours of fishing, canoeing and swimming.
Inside the 1-1/2-storey pine cottage you will find a full bathroom (with claw-foot tub) and fully functional kitchen, both run on solar power and propane.

The water comes from a shore well on the lake, so you will need to bring drinking water; also, please flush and shower sensibly. Or bring organic soap and shampoo, and have your bath in the lake!

Pillows, comforters, sheets and towels are provided, but you should bring your own beach towels. There is another small ladder loft suitable for older kids or adults to put a sleeping bag down in, if an overnight situation arises.
